The 2012 convention will be held October 12 and 13, 2012 at the Taylor Road Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama.

The church is located at 1685 Taylor Road, Montgomery, Al  36117.   Take Exit 9 off I-85 and go south.   The church can be seen as soon as you turn onto Taylor Road.    Click here for a map to the convention.

This year the convention will be held in the same facility as 2009, 2010 and 2011. This location is fantastic.  It is a large, new meeting facility.  There is  more room than ever before with room to grow.  Damon Wallace, our Vice President and program chairman this year, has a great lineup of speakers and is working on getting other.   To date Damon  has : Jerry Hayes; Dr. Clarence Collison, Professor Emeritus from Mississippi State University; Dr. James E. Tew , Honey Bee Specialist, Alabama Cooperative Extension System.   Please check back here as plans shape up for the latest developments.

There are going to be several Alabama Bee-keepers doing workshops.

On Thursday, October 11th, There will be exams for the Apprentice Level and Experienced Level for those working towards their Alabama Master Beekeeper (these participants must pre-register before September 1st and attend on Thursday, October 11th, also).    We have six members who have already received their Master Beekeeper. Five earned their Master Beekeeper at Young Harris, Georgia and one has an EAS Master Beekeeper.

There will be topics for everyone whether you are an experienced beekeeper, beginning beekeeper, or non-beekeepers.  There will be plenty to eat and plenty to do, plus the fellowship will be great.

Damon is working on suppliers so this list will be added here as it develops.    Be sure and check back here for updates.

The following suppliers will be at the convention delivering "pre ordered" supplies and each one will set up booths offering their standard products for sale.

Orders placed with attending suppliers will be delivered to the convention with no shipping charge (you must be there to pick them up or arrange to have someone pick them up).    Place your orders timely and request delivery at the Alabama Beekeepers Association annual convention.    Their trucks and trailers fill up pretty fast and once full, no more orders can be taken from that supplier for the 2011 convention delivery so be sure and place your order as early as possible.  Check your normal delivery costs, it may be that your convention delivery savings will cover your convention expenses!

Damon is working on more suppliers so this list of attending suppliers is growing daily.    Be sure and check back here for updates.

Make your plans now to attend.  You do not want to miss this meeting.  We will have another “Beekeeper of the Year” award.  Our president, Phillip Garrison, has acquired some fabulous door prizes.  This year we are going to have FOUR Grand Door Prizes, two for each day.   The four grand door prizes are valued at more than $2,500.   Plus, there will be other door prizes.

As always, we will be feeding you throughout the entire two days at no additional cost.    ie... The registration fee includes the convention and food.   (continental breakfasts; Friday lunch hamburgers; Friday Banquet steak, baked potato, and salad; and Saturday lunch bar-b-que.  You can’t beat that for the price of only $45 if you are preregistered ($50.00 at the door).   Your registration fee will feed you both days.
