The fourth annual Alabama Beekeepers
Association picnic is scheduled for June 5th at Cooter's Pond
in Prattville, AL. We have the pavilion reserved all
day. The Alabama Beekeepers Association will provide the
meat (Fried Chicken), beverages, and paper supplies. Everyone that comes
should bring a large covered dish of your choice of the
following; baked beans, potato salad, cole slaw, salad, potato
chips, tomatoes, vegetable, or desserts. Call Bonnie
Funderburg at 205-625-3464 or e-mail at
funder@otelco.net to coordinate what you wish to bring so we
don't have too much on one item. We will eat at 12:00 noon but feel free to come earl and stay late a good target arrival time is by 10:00 AM. Although plans are somewhat preliminary and subject to change, the major items like date, place and food arrangements are solid (it's a picnic - noting else matters that much!). Fred Rossman has committed to be there and other suppliers may also attend. Place your orders with Fred (Rossman Apiaries) and specify pickup at the ABA picnic in Prattville on June 5th. That will save your shipping charges and remember that cypress is pretty much the best wood for beehives and Rossman Apiaries is one of if not the only supplier in this area that sells cypress. Fred does have a rather large trailer but just in case it gets filled, get your orders in early to assure delivery of your items. Other suppliers may make the picnic. Please check back here as the picnic date nears to see if other suppliers will be there as well as to catch the latest picnic development.
